PlayStation announce release date and pricing details for the PS5
Sony Interactive Entertainment today announced the launch date and price details for its highly anticipated next-generation gaming system, the PlayStation®5.
PS5 will launch in Australia on 12 November, 2020 and will enter seven key markets: Australia, the U.S., Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea. A subsequent global rollout will continue on November 19 with launches throughout Europe, the Middle East, South America, Asia and South Africa.
The PS5 Digital Edition will be available for a recommended retail price of $599.95 while PS5 with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive will be available for $749.95.
Both PS5 models use the same custom processor with integrated CPU and GPU for high-fidelity graphics up to 4K, as well as the same ultra-high speed SSD with integrated I/O that will deliver lightning-fast loading.
Both PS5 models also offer a greater sense of immersion through the DualSense wireless controller and 3D audio capabilities, so players will enjoy the same gameplay experiences regardless of which option they choose.
PlayStation also unveiled several new titles for the PS5 including Devil May Cry 5, Final Fantasy XVI, Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach, Hogwarts Legacy, and a new God of War title.
Pre-orders will be available at select retailers starting as early as today.
