Gay communities around the world bastardise Proud Boys name, and we say yay

Not many people knew much about US white supremacist group Proud Boys until Donald trump was questioned about them at the first presidential debate last weekend.

Trump refused to admonish the group, and since then critics worldwide have taken to the net to bastardise the Proud Boys hashtag.

Since Sunday, gay men on Twitter hijacked it and flooded feeds with photos of men embracing loved ones, kissing sane sex partners and so on.

Many people tweeted their support for the men who hijacked the hashtag.

“The reclaiming of #ProudBoys is wonderful. Here’s me and my husband. Together for 20 years and married for 3. Both very proud boys,” tweeted one gay respondent.
