A cool blend of contemporary & retro culture

So you think you can dance, act or sing? Call-out for talented Perth peeps to star in ‘Les Mis’ and other productions

Adapting to the current situation with the COVID-19 border restrictions, Platinum Entertainment is seeking talented West Australians to audition for roles in three of their musical productions for 2021. These are The Boy from Oz, Hot Shoe Shuffle and Les Miserables, with all three productions being directed by Drew Anthony.

With many top performers returning to WA as industry jobs around the world collapse, Platinum is providing unique opportunities to get artists back onto the stage where they rightfully belong.

To do this, they need your help in spreading the word – that is, if you know someone who performs in either singing, dancing, acting or all three, let them know these gigs are happening.

Western Australia has always punched above its weight in the arts and entertainment industry and Platinum Entertainment wants to showcase this talent to Perth audiences.

The following roles are still looking to be filled for The Boy From Oz (on in January): Peter Allen (originally played by Todd McKenney then Hugh Jackman), Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland, Dee Anthony, Marion Woolnough, and Chris Bell.

For Hot Shoe Shuffle (on in March), there are key roles as April, Max and some ‘Tap Brothers’ are also in demand.

And for Les Miserable (on in May), shoes to fill are those of Jean Valjean, Javert, Eponine, Cosette, Fantine, Marius, Enjolras and Thenardiers.

Auditions will be held in Perth on the weekend of October 16, 17 and 18, 2020.

So, if you know someone who deserves the spotlight on them, or indeed if you yourself are a bit of a performer, discover where auditions are at via the website platinumperth.com.

Right now in the US, people are auditioning virtually.

Some touring companies will have to completely recast- that is for the tours that are being postponed.
