Improvements to PlayStation 5 make it easier for players to view, personalise and manage their game content and console experience

Lots of news on the PlayStation front.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that a second system software update for the PlayStation 5 console is now available, packed with new features and improvements to enhance the PS5 experience.

Improvements include UX enhancements which will make it easier for players to view, personalise and manage their game content and console experience, as well as new gaming and social experience customisations. Players can enjoy new tools, trackers, personal best capture and accolades to enhance their overall gaming.

There’s audio improvement for built-in speakers which sees standard two-channel TV speaker audio channelled into three-dimensional sound.

Plus there’s an M.2 SSD storage expansion which, once installed, can be used to download, copy and launch PS5 and PS4 games, as well as media apps.

But wait, there’s more!

On the gaming front, news just to hand is that Sherlock Holmes Chapter One will come to PS5 on November 16 and to PS4 at a later date. Other major releases ready to be unleashed include Diablo 2 Resurrected (out September 23, see available platform details below); Death Stranding: Director’s Cut (Sept 24 fro PS5); Far Cry 6 (Oct 7); Back 4 Blood (Oct 12); Battlefield 2042 (Oct 22); and Guardians of the Galaxy (Oct 26). Oh, and for soccer lovers there’s FIFA 22 (on October 1).

They’re just the entrées before new instalments in the Call of Duty and Final Fantasy franchises hit shelves and online stores in November.

Plenty to get excited about, then.
