THE NEW. RETRO. MODERN.

Pan Pacific Perth unveils amazing renovations and eco friendly refurbishments

Perth’s city landscape is expanding faster than ever, showing promising signs of economic recovery and cultural growth. Delving into several iconic structures, you’ll find changes have happened within, too. One luxury high-rise that has been through some beaut refurbishment is the Pan Pacific hotel, the iconic structure situated on bustling Adelaide Terrace.

Refurbishments at the hotel began in about May 2023 and are now complete two years on with Pan Pacific this week revealing renovations of 488 guest rooms and suites, its lobby, Club Lounge and the hotel’s expansive meeting and event spaces.

Set against the backdrop of a gorgeous riverfront and cultural heart, Pan Pacific Perth’s transformation blends luxury with purpose, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to sustainability. Innovative features include decorative panels made from repurposed denim, and furniture made of 100% recycled oceans plastics, each crafted to reduce waste and celebrate natural materials.

Renowned group, FDAT Architects, have drawn inspiration from Western Australia’s natural beauty along with Pan Pacific’s Asian heritage, offering guests a blend of modern luxury and local charm. And space! Pan Pacific now boasts Perth’s largest and most versatile event space, which includes a convention level and event spaces that feature over 2,500sqm of versatile function areas, and two ballrooms with dedicated pre-function area.

Also in place is state-of-the-art audio and visual amenities, able to be configurated to specific needs. Whether a business is looking to host a large-scale conference or intimate immersive brand activation, there’s plenty of room to move as well as technology to tailor to suit.

To launch the hotel’s renovations, a major event was held last weekend branded Pan Pacific: Reimagined, where travel and hospitality associates, business clients, media, and certain Perthonalities all convened in one of the bigger refurbished ballrooms for a luxury dinner hosted by comedian Joel Creasey, with entertainment by Samantha Jade. Guests enjoyed a taste of cuisine from the Pan Pacific kitchen, including tantalising delights like lobster, Wagyu beef, and an avalanche of multiculturally inspired desserts.

Dinner was followed by a bit of a disco next door in another of the impressively expanded ballrooms, with guests dancing the night away, way after bed-time.

The newly refurbished Pan Pacific Perth gives plenty of good reason for out-of-towners to feel right at home, business folk to see work more akin to leisure, and for staycationers to get themselves out of the house and back into the big city.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to watch 170 minutes of Tom Cruise airbrushed to oblivion and looking fab as a result, performing tens of genuine stunts with plenty of FX thrown in for good measure, in a sequel in a franchise that’s possibly the most successful in cinematic history, starring a cast of proverbial thousands, with a plot that’s pretty obvious, and an ending that… well, I won’t spoil it for you.

The newest and possibly final instalment of the Mission Impossible franchise, subtitled The Final Reckoning, kicked off with a bang last night at VMAX cinemas in Whitfords, Perth, to an audience that included footy stars, media darlings, and all-round action film aficionados.

The film itself is jam-packed with more martial arts than a UFC marathon weekend and it cost a pretty penny to make – a whopping 400 million dollars, in fact, which makes it one of the most expensive movies ever made (and could well have saved one developing country from poverty).

The dialogue is a little all over the place, with too many characters throwing in their ten-cents worth when just one would have summed any given scenario up nicely. But still, it’s not War & Peace we’re watching here, is it? Or is it?

Why I’m all for the Omorfi beauty brand

I first tried Omorfi active skincare products when a couple of samples landed on my desk two years ago. A face wash, exfoliating face polish, and skin correcting moisturiser were all it took to have me hooked.

Omorfi products are designed to deliver actual, visible results by incorporating potent, active ingredients in every product, addressing specific skin concerns without the use of harmful chemicals.

The brand is the brainchild of beauty technician, Ang Domagala, who sensed the beauty industry was missing a skincare range that was simple to apply and containing superior ingredients that actually worked. Ang created her skincare range during the pandemic, and wouldn’t you know it, products were flying off the virtual shop shelves.

Recently, I received a new round of Omorfi products – ones containing real magical ingredients. First up is the Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid 1% Serum which, as its name suggests, contains hyaluronic acid that helps boost the body’s natural storage of the good stuff. The serum delivers a ‘dewy’ look to the skin and simultaneously ‘cradles’ the skin’s moisture, preventing it from evaporating into thin air. The serum is super gentle and has a nice, calming effect, making it great for breakout-prone skin.

Next up is Omorfi’s Multi Vitamin Skin Balm, an all-round cream that helps slow down signs of aging by subtly filling out fine lines and wrinkles, and generally helping to even out skin tone. Ingredients including avocado, almond, jojoba, rose hip oil and vitamins A, C and E, along with shea butter and marine collagens all work together to give skin a serious moisturising but without the oiliness.

I personally love the benefits of rose hip oil, so Omorfi’s Barrier Repair Rose Hip Oil is my favourite of the bunch. Again, it’s a product filled to the brim with vitamins A, C and E, which work with essential fatty acids to soothe and heal the skin. While I don’t suffer from anything major such as eczema or psoriasis, I do occasionally get a burst of red in the upper cheek region from occasional bouts of too much sunshine, and I find this rose hip oil really helps heal the subtle sunburn.

Rose hip oil is easily absorbed into the skin and is wonderful in reducing redness, and of course the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, too.

Finally, I’m love with the simply titled Illuminating Facial Oil, a lightweight elixir that gave my skin a little extra hydration and a certain sense of protection. As my skin is naturally oily, applying this kind of product sometime exacerbates the moisturising result, but a simple pat-dray with a face towel is all it takes to get that matte look back. Again, the Illuminating Facial Oil contains an impressive blend of nutrient rich ingredients including my favourite rose hip oil, along with jojoba, evening primrose, almond, avocado, orange peel, argan and flaxseed oils – all working together to leave my face radiant, without too much of a glow, and feeling refreshed.

There, now you know why I’m all for Omorfi’s extended active skincare range.
