Demi Lovato breaks silence over drug overdose
Pop singer Demi Lovato has broken the silence over her drug overdose, almost two weeks after the incident occurred.
The 25-year-old posted a statement on her Instagram account thanking fans for their support and vowing that she will “keep fighting” to overcome her addictions.
Demi wrote in the post, “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet … I will keep fighting.”
Over the past year, the ex-Barney & Friends presenter has been most verbal about her struggles with eating disorders, bipolar disorder, excessive alcohol intake, and cocaine addiction. Last year, some of these problems were highlighted in a television documentary, Simply Complicated.
According to a source, Demi has agreed to go to rehab and will go straight to an inpatient facility from the hospital.
It has not yet been confirmed what drug the singer had taken when she overdosed although reports first indicated that heroin was involved. Antonino Tati
