The 7-Year Itch: Kim Kardashian files for divorce from Kanye West
In their seventh year of marriage and after having parented four children, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from Kanye West.
A representative for Kardashian confirmed the filing this morning but declined to comment further.
Allegedly, the divorce is an amicable one, with Kanye having just has much negative points to say about Kim than she has to say about him.
Kardashian and West have agreed to share custody of their children, and also plan to stick to the arrangements laid out in a pre-nuptial agreement.
There have been hints of a pending divorce for months, with Kim leaving mentions of Kanye out of her Christmas posts, and being seen out and about not wearing her wedding ring. Kanye, meanwhile, has been spending a lot of time alone at his Wyoming ranch.
Kanye also recently accused Kardashian of having an affair with American rapper Meek Mill and once referred to Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, as ‘Kris Jong-Un’.
Kardashian and West began dating in 2012 and quickly became a celebrity ‘power couple’ while also becoming instant targets for tabloid news and internet trolls.
Both have been prominent on social media, with Kanye using the platform to promote a campaign for presidency (lol), and Kim’s most recently seeing her social posts criticised for being tone-deaf and attending outlandish parties during a global pandemic.
The pair have parented four children, each Christened with a name as absurd as the next: North West, Psalm West, Chicago West and Saint West.
